Malaysia Exclusive Economic Zone Act No. 311.
The Act claims that the exclusive economic zone of Malaysia is an area beyond and adjacent to the territorial sea of Malaysia and extends to a distance of two hundred nautical miles from the baselines and referred to in sub-section after the limits of the exclusive economic zone.
In the exclusive economic zone, Malaysia has sovereign rights for the purpose of exploring and exploiting, conserving and managing the natural resources, whether living or non-living, of the seabed and subsoil and the superjacent waters at the same time protecting the marine environment in the zone.
